Alliance Value Statement

We are facing a convergence of healthcare pressures. There is a significant increase in chronic disease, with most individuals aged 65 years or older and having multiple chronic conditions. At the same time, there is a growing deficit of Providers to care for an aging population that is living longer, creating access challenges and suboptimal outcomes.

While there is a strong desire for Health Systems to transition to more value-based care contracting, financial constraints and uncertaintly create challenges for health systems to commit to this transition at scale. Mary Washington Healthcare has made this commitment and is addressing these challenges effectively, both for governmental and commercial Payers which benefits the entire community.

Mary Washington Healthcare's Clinically Integrated model is an active and ongoing program with community Providers, creating a high degree of interdependence and cooperation to improve our patience experiences, enhance the quality of care, improve the efficiencies in care and control costs.

Clinical Quality Committee Chair

The Alliance Clinical Quality Committee has identified the updated Guidelines as being a comprehensive and authoritative source for up-to-date evidenced-based guidelines and best practices for 25 outpatient/ambulatory care conditions. Most include one-page summaries of general principles for diagnosis and management, links to more extensive guidelines and reference materials and downloadable action plans and patient education materials. We feel this is an excellent complement to the CCMGs (Chronic Care Management Guides) published by Alliance providers (also available on our website) and has the advantage of being updated on a regular basis. Please feel free to forward any comments on this resource to Dr. Richard Lewis or Dr. Dan Woodford.
